Our process
What happens between the pallet and the listing.
None of it is complicated, but it's worth knowing what we do and, just as importantly, what we don't.
Step one
Sourcing
Major retailers end up with merchandise they can't sell at full price: customer returns, overstock that didn't move, and shelf pulls from seasonal resets. Once a box has been opened, most retailers can't legally put it back on the shelf as new, and warehousing it costs more than it's worth to them.
Rather than write it off, they sell it in bulk through wholesale liquidation marketplaces. These are closed auctions that require a registered business with a resale certificate to bid. We buy pallets and lots this way from the liquidation channels of Costco, Amazon, Target, and Walmart, and every purchase comes with an invoice and a manifest.
That's the whole supply chain. We don't buy from individuals, we don't take consignment from people we don't know, and we don't buy anything we can't document.
Step two
Intake and sorting
A pallet arrives shrink-wrapped and mixed. We break it down completely and inventory it piece by piece against the manifest. What's actually in a pallet and what the manifest says are not always the same thing.
Anything that turns up broken, incomplete, or simply not worth selling gets set aside rather than listed.
We're a reseller, not the manufacturer, so we don't verify recall status or safety certifications on anything we sell. If that matters for a particular item, check it with the manufacturer before you buy.
Step three
What we actually mean by tested
"Tested" gets used pretty loosely by resellers, so here's exactly what we mean by it:
- If it plugs in, we plug it in and run it long enough to be satisfied it does its job.
- If it has a battery, we charge it and check it takes a charge.
- If it came with parts or accessories, we check they're there.
Anything that doesn't pass gets listed as Used – Fair with the fault described, or doesn't get listed at all.
Step four
Cleaning
Everything gets a wipe down, and the old shipping labels, tape and packaging come off before it's photographed.
Step five
Listing and photographing
Every item gets listed under one of Facebook Marketplace's standard conditions. The photos are always of the actual unit you'd be buying, including any flaw we found.
| Condition | What it means |
|---|---|
| New | Brand new and unused, still sealed in the original packaging. |
| Used – Like New | Barely used and looks it. Usually an open-box return where nothing was wrong with the item. |
| Used – Good | Used, with some signs of wear. Works as intended. |
| Used – Fair | Heavily used, or has a fault or a missing part. Whatever it is, it's in the photos and the description. |
Before you buy
All sales are final
We don't do returns or refunds, and everything is sold as-is. There are two of us working out of a warehouse unit and we're not set up to run a returns desk.
Every listing has photos of the actual item and an honest condition on it. Look it over and try it out when we hand it over, and if it isn't what we described, don't take it.
We're a reseller rather than the manufacturer, so nothing we sell carries a warranty from us. It's worth making sure an item suits your needs before you buy it.
Buying from us
How a sale actually goes
-
Find it on Facebook
Everything currently available is posted on our Facebook page and on Marketplace, with real photos and the condition stated on every listing.
-
Message us
Tell us what you're interested in. We'll confirm it's still available, answer anything the listing didn't cover, and send photos of specific details if you want them.
-
Delivery or pickup
We deliver most larger items free if you're local, or you can collect from the shop near Elliott & I-10. Test it before any money changes hands, and walk away if it isn't what we described.
Free delivery covers most larger items within about 30 miles of the shop. Ask us and we'll tell you either way. Collection is by appointment only, since we're a working warehouse rather than a storefront, and we'll send the exact address once a time is set.
